Competitors growing in number and really small businesses

At the start of a new game you have to chose how many competitors you will have.

won't it be fun to see new AI competitors showing up if the years pas by?
And maybe a competitor that only run a small shop or farm and sticks with it (as in the real world).

I like the idea of starting with 8 or 10 competitors and later in the game there will be 50, to make the game harder at a later point.


in the beginning you have to find a way to create a money flow, and you will develop your products, later you will invest in new products, and it will be fun to see new competitors that are trying to compete with that.

You could already emulate that by merging with other companies, then if more space becomes available new companies will form. But the addition of random start-up companies would be cool, if you could have a range instead of an exact number of companies in the game.
