Poll : Being able to launch several translations

Post by paulwoman »

I already made this request several months ago but I can't find this version anymore...

Do you want to be able to choose the language launched when you start a game?

I take advantage of the release of the new version 7.0 to re-launch the subject.

It's true that the "lambdas" don't really need this, but this feature would be a great help to me.

Currently, to check the translations - namely French, Portuguese and Russian - we have to create a "special" folder for tutorials, scenarios - which have to be completely overwritten - and a "translate" folder.

In detail, here are the different steps I have to do if I want check English when French is enabled :
  1. Create a folder with the French scenarios and tutorials.
  2. I Modify the "translate" folder so that the game does not launch the translation. For information, I put "translate fr" to know which language I save
  3. When I want to check them, I put back the English scenario and tutorials from the github "backup".
  4. I launch the game with the menu in French. If I want in English, I need reinstall from the.exe of this site
Then, if I want to check the French
  1. I modify the name of the folder of the scenarios and tutorial
  2. I I rename different folders that I have previously put with another name
And so on for the other languages...

Of course, I could take advantage of the installer for each language, but knowing that only the "translate" folder has the most updates, it would take more time.

What bothers me the most are the step :
  1. Launch the game
  2. See the game
  3. Quit the game
  4. Change the folders of the translation
  5. Restart the game,
  6. See the translation
  7. Quit the game
  8. Edit the translate folder again
  9. Restart the game.
In addition, I have to be careful not to confuse the languages of the translations

With a multilingual version with a dedicated folder like
  • Challenge FR
  • Challenge PT
  • Image FR
  • Image PT
  • Scenario FR
  • Scenario PT
In short, a dedicated name for each file that has to be modified with several languages.
