Family, inheritance and life DLC Sugesstion

Post by LeonStrike »

Hello everyone.
I had an idea for this game, which would be the implementation of a family, life and inheritance system. I will separate into 3 topics that will be below.
I got inspired by 3 games - crusader kings, the guild 2, Putlocracy

Family
Idea for family implementation would be a player can have children, grandchildren, nephews, uncles, great-grandchildren, wife, cousins and each NPC in the game have a family to make marriage between them and close business deals, the player can take care of the education of the children and relationship between the family, the children may, when they are older, take on a subsidy or even become CEO of the main company and leaving the player as only chairman and children they could also autonomy and make marriages to have children and children they could buy shares in other companies and become politicians also.

inheritance
When the Player dies Character can take over one of his Heirs to control, shares and properties can be divided through the will between children, grandchildren, nephews, brothers, cousins and wife or can be inherited by only one person
Life
The player can be married, have children and ect, player can die of old age or die at the time the Player wants, Player can play in casino, buy private jet, be married and ect
Marriage
Player may be marrying an investor or conglomerate owner or marry an heiress of a company or politician, these marriages may affect the company's business, favoring or harming companies, marriage will be negotiable, the wife may win gifts such as jewelry, mansion and actions and other things, children, grandchildren could be married and have children and if the heir to a family of a company dies and if he has heirs with a player, one of the player's children may be heir to the company

Idea about DLC and about people experiencing clan formation like Rockfeller and Rothschild and other families.

Usually you would create a poll to see what people think and possibly get the developers attention if there is a lot of community interest. See these posts as examples they have similar ideas.

Agree that these ideas go a little far for this game but, maybe there is some simple and practical way that some of it it could be implemented to make the game more fun that could be discussed.

Maybe a Simple Family System would work where you would be automatically given one (maybe two) Heir(s) instead of having a complex family system like Crusader Kings II. They could work for you as a subsidiary CEO or Executive and then Inherit and take over your company when you get too old say 60-70+. You would then become them inheriting all shares and other assets and your previous character would just be the figurehead company chairman until they die at ~80-100.

I´m all in for having characters that are family members, with their own abilities which you can hire, and special family bonds reflected in their relationship to you, and see different family groups competing with each other under their different corporations. That would be just make-up and a bit novelesque, but it could be fun.
Things aren´t getting worse; our information is getting better!

It is not The sims, but it could show experience as Running a Family Holding and as Clan like Rockefeller and other Billionary Clan has in the world

I also think this game is not The Sims.

But - we may use some mechanism for refreshing gaming experience. I suggest - every 50-60 years, the player's avatar "retires" and the player got to create a new one - new name, new looks, switching genders, etc. The game is paused of course. Then, the game continue with new avatar, that it will get randomly new stats. All the assets are "inherited" by the new avatar. We can pretend this is his son/daughter/trophy wife and move on with the game.

As for making a dynasty, family empires or clans - that's not needed at all. Mostly because there are not many stats and personal quirks that matter in the game. Yes, your 3rd son from your 4th wife is good in Electronics, but your corporation sells tomatoes and has a bank, so what? Your CTO will be someone virtual, not your son anyway. And when this son become CEO and Chairman, it's again YOU who control the game, not someone else playing instead of you. Stats don't matter in this case.

I think it should be limited to having an option to have a "dynasty" where you pass on your wealth and control of the business to a single successor/heir, perhaps at some designated retirement date. You could have scenarios where an heir with different expertise takes over the business and is tasked with taking it in a new direction.

I actually think it would be good for the AI players to also have their fortunes "redistributed" occasionally to break up control of their corporations. Most very wealthy families due to having multiple heirs wind up splitting up control of their companies over time.

My concern is always gameplay. I don't really care about having "features" incorporated into the game that don't have any impact on the player's strategic decision making. Some graphical updates and things like that are nice to keep things fresh and interesting, but I don't need to buy random things that are not related to my success in the game. Rewards that tie in to gameplay (enhanced expertise for example, or maybe like a private jet or yacht that boosts AI characters relationships with you) might be somewhat interesting.
