After months of intensive work by our programmers on optimizing game based on the feedback in this post: viewtopic.php?f=14&t=7197, we are pleased to announce that the upcoming version 6.6.00 will feature Major Game Speed Improvements.
Our programmers have painstakingly reviewed and optimized key areas of the programming code and have even gone to great lengths to achieve the performance targets by rewriting the code when necessary. The result is a performance increase of over 50% on average, and possibly up to 100% faster in late games with numerous firms.

We believe that v6.6.00 will resolve most of the game slowdown issues that have been reported.
After upgrading to v6.6.00, if you still experience too much game slowdown that you deem unreasonable in respect to the total number of firms and cities in the game, you may send us your save game file and we will look into it and see if there are still any other possible ways to further improve the performance.

My mind is blown by the news, it is great. Between this, multi-floor warehouses and a host of other things, we are truly inching our way towards perfection.
Out of interest, are the optimizations for single core or multi-core CPUs?
