How to determine who to hire? Personality Traits/Expertise

I see personality traits and expertise, I am pretty sure I understand the expertise of each category of each person - can someone please explain what the "Personality" section of each person means, like upgrading facilities (1-100) , paying dividends and so forth. What impact do these personality traits have exactly?
