In Digital Age we should really introduce Advisers or some 2nd party utility that you can run along side your game or use to analyze your save game to give you details like sales per specificity store YOY growth, notifications when sales in certain product categories are declining. At the very least give us a way to export useful data to excel.

Yes this would be a cool feature. As an analytical person, I'm finding that I have to write out a lot of the in game stats to formulate my own data analysis. Having a program to automate this would be very helpful.

I keep thinking of the city advisors in Sim City 3000 or whatever would be really helpful but as a quick feature just a useful excel spreadsheet that allows you to analyze the financial health of your company would be nice.

If Enlight are willing to make this in-game data available somehow (output via CSV, dBase, or DLL hook/API, etc.), I'd be willing to write a tool which processes the CapLab output into a GUI program that provides this kind of analysis/feedback.

Right now I just build my own spreadsheets and manually copy those numbers over. It's kinda tedious I agree.

On some of my bigger games I will write everything down and then input onto a spreadsheet and then formulate it as I need it. If I recall correctly, pre-sub DLC, I had a game going for almost 100 years that had several pages worth of data I had collected.

For a second there, I thought I double replied the topic. Then I realized it's your new signature. We should come up with a cool name for our group, maybe start with E, using rainbow color code and synonyms of kisses and love

I was a little bored and started thinking about this, today. Probably getting ahead of myself, as I'm not sure any kind of data export will come to CapLab soon?

I think there's a few features that would be good in an analysis tool for CapLab:

Query Builder
It would be cool if people could create and execute customised queries on a game state's data. E.g...
Show me all Furniture products
That require less than three manufacturing inputs
With all manufacturing inputs available to any corporation
By any company
In any city with a real wage rate of more than 60.0
That has less than two current producers
That has less than four current retailers
With a brand of more than 25.0
... and generates nice graphs and charts of the info.

Alerts
You could then take the query idea further, and have the analysis tool alert people when certain conditions are met. For instance, I like to buy-up little bits of real estate that become for sale as the game goes on, but the only way to find out when a building goes on sale is to keep checking the 'Firms' page and pick the correct categories. If I could create an alert on...
Any apartment or commercial building
That is not owned by my corporation or my subsidiaries
In any city
With a real estate demand of more than 25.0
That is for sale
With a market value of less than my corporation's cash
That has a current occupancy of more than 65%
In a location with a customer demand index of more than 40.0
... and have it flash or something to alert me as soon as it goes on sale in the game, that would be so much easier!

Reminders/Planning Budget
It'd also be neat if you could set-up future actions you intend to perform in the game, like a form of planning. For example, you could tell the analysis tool that you plan to open seven more department stores in seven cities in high-demand areas, and it could figure-out the current average cost of stores in these cities in-game, and show you a predicted balance sheet and income statement that reflects how it would appear if you were to execute those actions in-game (i.e. your additional costs and profit from the stores), to help you make decisions.
