Bug: Pricing Policies for Individual Products

Post by Christoph »

I'm talking about this feature:
Image
The bug only happens for products which don't fit on the first page of the above displayed menu (in other words: you have to scroll down to reach them). When you change the position of the slider of one of these products than the game automatically scrolls back to the top and also applies the change to the product which now has the position of the product you originally wanted to change.

I'm using version 3.5.16 with the Subsidiary DLC and no mods. In the attachment you find a save-game for easy reproduction (had to zip it because the forum doesn't allow .sav uploads).
Steps for easy reproduction with the attached save-game:
- In the main menu: Screen mode -> Windowed Mode -> 1024x768 (this means only that less products are needed to fill the screen; the bug happens under any screen mode but more products are required)
- Load the attached save-game
- In the information center under Corporate Details: Select Player, then goto products and activate "Show Pricing Policy"
- Scroll down and change the pricing policy of canned soup.
- Notice the described bug

This doesn't happen to me, even if I change the resolution and load your save. And for a much higher resolution with more than 50 products, the list still works fine for me.
E is for Endear, all cute and cuddly
L is for Luxury, longing for splendid
E is for Elate, making others happy
A is for Amenable, a serene nature
Z is for Zeal, zest for wonderful life
A is for Admirers, all of you love me

I just did a fresh CapLab installation on another computer and the problem still occurs. Both computers are Windows 7 64 bit. One has an Intel CPU and the other one an AMD CPU. Any more information I could provide to assist in solving this issue?

You mean the supposed bug is that you cannot scroll all the way down, right?

But on my windows 10 or my friend's windows 7 of a clean install, it all worked fine for me. Even tested on my massive enterprise that produces almost all products, and I can get to the last item Yogurt without issue.

Perhaps it's an issue of the mouse driver? or somewhat related to directX?

I just created a screen recording demonstrating the bug (see attachment; sorry for bad quality, I used the first free software I could find). When I change the pricing policy of canned soup in the video I'm just pressing the left mouse button, nothing else. I hope it's now clear what the issue is.

I'm glad you can reproduce it and that it's not just happening for me! Hope this bug will get fixed soon because it's very annoying in the late game when you are trying to squeeze competitors out of some product markets.

For me, it's more about how to co-exist with AI than actually try to put them out of businesses, once you killed them, new competitors will pop-up somewhere else and upset with the established balance XD
