Multicore support?

I upgraded my computer, and even if my CPU is not great, it has 4 cores. I don't see too much difference on the game performance compared with my older computer, which had only 1 core on the CPU, while other extensive CPU games seem to be working faster. So, my question is if the game support multicore CPUs or do I have to just play slowly? (The game was designed to be played with patience, so I have no actual problem with this)
