Advisor 1.4 — AI Analytics Department and a business newspaper
For Capitalism Lab 12.0.92 · English and Russian · any LLM over an API, or a built-in analyst that works offline

Tired of guessing why a store is losing money and what to build next? Hire an Analytics Department. It reads the real numbers of your game and explains what is going on and what to do. Once a year "The Business Herald" comes out: who built what, who bought whom, and what the cities are short of.

Features

The department is hired by an order through headquarters: small, medium or large team, with a salary. The bigger the team, the more it sees: your firms → competitors and shortages → "white spots" and a forecast.

Chat in an in-game panel (the game keeps running). The Review, Prices, Competitors and Opportunities buttons insert a template you can refine: "…especially prospects in beef".

Concrete product advice: what to make cheaper, what to raise and by how many percent, where to restock, where to change the supplier.

What to produce: the factory recipe, who supplies each raw material and where, whether there is enough, cost vs selling price. Plus semi-finished goods in short supply: steel, fabric, flour, engines.

Causes of losses for every firm, competitor threats, "white spots", housing shortages.

Built-in analyst: no internet or no key — the same calculations are shown as tables.

"The Business Herald" every January 1 (HTML with an archive), with sections picked by checkboxes.

Memory: standing instructions for the advisor, chat history, checking past advice.

DeepSeek, OpenRouter, Google Gemini, Anthropic Claude, LM Studio, Ollama — any OpenAI-compatible API.

Installation

Close the game.

Unpack the archive and run install.bat.

Choose the language. A Steam install of the game is found automatically.

Optionally pick a provider and enter an API key. You can skip this: the built-in analyst works without it.

In the game, build headquarters, open the Analytics Department tile (Ctrl+F9) and go to the Department tab.
To remove the mod, run uninstall.bat: it restores the original game files. The mod does not change CapMain.exe. A detailed guide is included (GUIDE_EN.md).

Good to know

The mod installs a plugin loader in place of swscale-8.dll (the original is kept as swsorig.dll). If a Steam update restores the file, run install.bat again.

Only your game's numbers and your questions are sent to the AI provider. The key is stored in ADVISOR\advisor.ini, so don't share that file.

The panel screenshots are drawn by the mod itself using sample data. The English newspaper screenshot is the built-in template issue, made without the AI.
