As well as trying to edit the scope of production of subsidiaries, this seems to only happen some of the time though. usually only happens right after i do something like set up a new subsidiary and try to edit the scope of production. It's the same error as the latter.

It was due to some issues with the translation file, which was fixed in v6.6.06.
If you are already using v6.6.06, then please see below:
Are you using any translation files? If so, it could be caused by incorrect placement of translation files, as described below. Please let me know which language you are using and I will check it.
How to Avoid Incorrect Placement of Translation Files
Please note that the translated versions of these .TXT files should ONLY be in the \TRANSLATE folder, and should NOT be placed into the \TEXT folder.
The reason is that when the dev team has added new text to the t_game.txt file, and the translated version does not have it yet, the game can read from the original text folder \TEXT. But if the original text file is replaced by the translated one, then it will not be able to find it and thus will display an error message.
