A fresh look for your cities
Every factory has brand-new graphics, with eight designs across three sizes. Apartment buildings also get more variety, expanding from six to ten designs. Whether you’re building an industrial district or growing a residential neighborhood, there’s more visual variety as your cities develop. (
See the new graphics.)
You can also
import your own character portrait and corporate logo, which are carried inside your save file.
A less predictable technology race
AI competitors can now use Radical R&D, gambling on major breakthroughs and early inventions. A comfortable technology lead might not stay comfortable for long.
Your research toolkit expands too:
Radical Technology R&D targets global technologies, while
fast-tracked inventions offer the chance to launch years early—with the risk of finishing years late. A skilled COO managing an R&D Center can now unlock radical research there.
Radical R&D is available with either the Subsidiary DLC or the Digital Age DLC. Global technology research requires Digital Age.
Better tools for managing your empire
- Cash Flow Statement — Banking and Finance DLC: Track cash from operating, investing, and financing activities alongside your existing financial reports.
- Holdings page — Subsidiary DLC: View your corporate group as an ownership tree, including your effective stake at each level.
- Annual Score Rankings: Year-end rankings are now part of the base game, letting you follow the wealth race. Influence rankings require the City Economic Simulation.
- Configurable IPO requirements — Subsidiary DLC: Choose from five levels controlling how large or profitable companies must be before going public.
- AI expansion limits: Set limits on how many digital firms and product classes each AI company can take on.
There’s also an
improved Survival Mode with an initial town isolation period,
ready-made regional maps, product-class views, expanded CSV exports, and alerts when managed stores drop obsolete products. Some additions require their corresponding DLCs.
