You are completely right, Purifier, it has always been that way. Sorry to doubt you

Why not show the netto ? Because its much harder to code the netto profit into an realtime number or graph.

I do agree showing the netto profit would be better, but i dont know how much work it would costs the devs to change it.
The net is not harder, that's calculated in realtime already on the income statement. It fluctates... as does everything... but as long as the "last month" is accurate, which is it on the income statement, it doesn't matter. 8-) I really don't think it was that way in Cap2, which I have been replaying this past week. I only switch to CapLab today. I've never gone broke while in the green before

If it is operating profit, well, at least it's not "broken", it's just the wrong metric if you want to see at a glance if you fell into the red last month.

Thanks for the explanation.

The graph bar shows your operating profit of the month.

The operating profit can easily be calculated and updated, because your revenue only can go up and your operating costs can only increase. So thats a simple + (revenue) - costs (operating) sum.

The other incomes and expendures (stock return, dividends, in/decrease in asset value and loan) can variate between positive and negative. To add that into a realtime visual calculation requires much more coding.

I do agree showing the netto profit would be better, but i dont know how much work it would costs the devs to change it.

The little profit graph at the bottom

Hi. The tiny graph at the bottom of the mainscreen is apparently not reporting my net profit, which I expected it to, as that's how it was in Cap2 and also makes the most sense ... it's a highly visible way to communicate when we are suddenly running in the red for the month. In my current case, I was increasing spending (training and advertising) because I thought I was profiting as it was green, but I was just increasing my overspending. My confusing was growing as to why I kept having to take out loans when I was in the green. Anyway...

Simply, On the income statement, my last months Net Profit is negative, but the bottom graph clearly indicates last month as my most profitable this half. I believe the income statement to be the more correct, because I have been losing cash and taking out new loans repeatedly for the past couple months.

I hope we can get that fixed up!
