Divest my company and step down as CEO/chairman

Post by Wall Rd »

Is it possible to divest my company?
For example if I start company ABC, can I IPO, sell out all my shares in ABC and step down as CEO/chairman?
Or am I forever tied to the first company I start?
Would be fun if one could sell out a company that is for example clearly overvalued, then reallocate the capital to create a competitor, then outcompete the divested company, etc. So to play the game of a capital allocator and not only running businesses..

If you want to do that you would need to do that sort of things with a subsidiary not your initial company, if a competitor takes over enough of your original company that's the end.

(have been campaigning for a long time for game to continue if you no longer own your 1st company due to selling it, bankruptcy, being bought etc)

Interesting! I don't see why the first company you start is so important. It should be about how you allocate and compound your capital = capitalism... At least, if the player has bought Subsidiary DLC, and you play a Custom game, it shouldn't matter which company you use to compound your capital. In my humble opinion :)
