Hello,
When I enable the Temporality Idle function on a CEO of a subsidiary of mine, it will stop messing with prices as expected however it will also no longer apply new technologies in factories.
I have R&D centers for my subsidiaries, the tech level is their own level that was researched by their own R&D centers, yet with the option above turned on the AI CEO will not automatically upgrade the factory production to the latest tech available, I need to manually cycle through their factories and apply the new tech to their Mft. unit on my own.
The only mod I'm using is my own repack of RealWorldMod, but since that mod only adds new product types but cannot interfere with AI I am assuming this is a core game problem introduced with the new Idle option. If you need me to upload a save for you to debug pls let me know.
EDIT: If I disable the Idle function for a specific Firm the AI CEO will immediately upgrade the tech in the Mft. units, but it will also start changing the price which I do not want.
"Temporality Idle" option prevents tech upgrade in factories

again i would consider that working as intended, if your CEO is set to idle, i would expect them to be idle, and that means doing nothing

On one hand, you are not wrong, 'Idle' means Idle after all.cantdownloadit wrote: ↑Fri Sep 13, 2024 10:55 am again i would consider that working as intended, if your CEO is set to idle, i would expect them to be idle, and that means doing nothing
However, if you think about it, there aren't any really scenarios where you would want your manually-managed subsidiary to ignore tech upgrades. Most certainly, you would not want to manually cycle through 10, 20, 50, however many factories every X ingame months to upgrade their Mft. tech. And then again, and again, and again until you get tired of doing it and quit.
An AI CEO should, irrespective of any current setting, always upgrade the tech in their Mft. units.

I hit this problem as well. I make subsidiaries for each product range to make use of the CEO's expertise bonus when researching. The subsidiary is supposed to run research and factories at a break-even prices. Currently there is no good way to do this if the CEO is adjusting prices so initially I set him to idle, but noticed new tech isn't being applied. So the other way to do it is set yourself to manage the factory.
