The CEO wage often has a CAP, why not use the same CAP or % of revenue that limits CEO pay for the COO? In an old game I had to own all my company stock and payout a dividend just to match (most years) or exceed my COO pay.

COO's high salaries are set to the current level since Cap2 and I think they are for gameplay balancing. (in the other words, if the COO's salaries are lower, you may not get as much fun from the game as it is.)

Having said that, since Capitalism Lab got a "lab" in the title, it is possible for us to experiment with a lower COO salary setting. But like all the suggestions, I would encourage you to post a poll on the Suggestions forum and see how many people would prefer a lower COO salary setting. If there are enough supporting votes, I would forward the improvement request to the dev team for consideration.

I agree that the COO's Salaries are so high. Hiring a COO is very useful in this game to concentrate on strategy rather than micromanagement. Specially when you advance in time and your company start to have several business units.

I think when you reach certain profits the COO's salary isn't THAT high. I usually hire one when my profits reach over $100M. The boost I get in manufacturing and retail usually balances his wage. And late game (when I start getting bored) around $1bn profit his ~250M salary is nothing, though still probably unreal.

But the starting salary a COO asks is VERY steep. I think it should be a fraction of the company's profit/revenue from the beginning with a minimum of around ~15M.
I would love to be able to experiment with for example hiring a farming specialist in the beginning and starting with level 4 farms etc...

We will try to think of a way to improve this.

Hi David

The problem here is that since Cap2, the demand for products has been heavily decreased and with the changed Local AI algorithms, margins are much slimmer, resulting in much, much lower profits!
However, the salaries are still Cap2 era salaries, and hence now much too high
