bug ver. 2.1.01 ctd

i got this message when i pressed the "quit to windows" button.


Also when employing a CTO (or was it COO) your own expertise class becomes useless since only his expertise is in research used is this intended? if so does this happen to the firms operated by the others to?

every time i try to change the product in the livestock processing unit in the farm i experience a ctd.
i experience this in already set units and new and unset units

We have just released 2.1.01B in an attempt to fix this bug.

sorry i didn't respond until now but i just woke up.

anyways i tried the 2.1.01b patch and still experience the same crash. i tested this in the save i provided in my earlier post and a new game. (i also just for checking disabled my second monitor tried that. no change)

the crash happens whenever i try to set the output of the livestock processing unit.
i can use them if use a preset layout.

Could you please start a new game with 2.1.01b? The bug in 2.1.01 stored some data incorrectly and if you use 2.1.01b to load the old save game, the bug will still occur.

i did test it in a new game and experienced the same problem i also just now tested to remove all prior saves and configuration files in "my documents".

i also tried to remove the game and reinstall and apply the patch still no change

Could you provide me with your save game via Dropbox and let me know the steps for triggering the bug with the save game?

sorry no dropbox for me i just checked it out and it is a service i will not install on my computer under any circumstances.

i have provided a link in my first post with the savegame.
but this happens in new games as well on a compleatly fresh and patched version of the game

as for recreating it it's not hard at all.
1. select a farm (newly built or not)
2. select a livestock processing unit
3. press the "change product"

at step 3 the screen goes black and the windows error pops up stating that "capmain.exe has stopped working"

Although there is an installable "service" version of dropbox, you can use it in its purely online version which has no installation requirement.
Simply register and log-in. Then you upload whatever files you want and share them. It will then be missing the "sync" functions, but that is not required when you are just sharing files

and that includes my save

about dropbox once i saw the download it turned me off so i didn't notice I'll check it out in the future if needed


the only thing is the original bug i reported the ".\itemres.ccp" that happens when i press the "quit to windows" button but since i try to quit the game it is only slightly annoying
