I would like to add that I think that a mega-store should be able to accommodate nearly all products.

I think that the development team and Enlight company shoud debate about creating graphically better environment, better game engine, visual objects etc.

How I see Capitalism game in the future?
Visually similar to the Cities Skylines or Sims or Industry Giant.

I suggest you to think about this:
- Buildings shouldn't be built instantly, but gradually, depending on the number of workers (work progress should be visible);
- Shop and stores should have much more services and fields for selling;
- Create a better customization tool, so that the user can create and customize his office, HQ or shop (Like Dev Company or the new Tech Executive Tycoon games);
- The company owner should have a better preview of his workers and managers (It would be greate to increase or decrease salaries of workmen);
- Maybe expand the production and bussines services (Catering and Tourism, motels, hotels, oil industry, gas stations, Internet hosting, Mobile and Telecom operators);
- The game should be personal when we talk about the Chairman and other management stuff. Although he/they has/have villas, he/they could buy personal cars (limo, SUVs), jets, bodyguards etc. The management stuff should be visible on the map.

We know that all of this requires additional investment, but in the near future, the Capitalism franchise could win the market. I suggest you, in political context, to bring closer this game to Geopolitical simulator (Masters of the world). But, firstly, it's important to visually improve the game.

David wrote:Yes, the dev team has evaluated the technical and gameplay feasibility. It seems feasible to implement it for retail stores with a maximum of 3 floors. But it is limited to retail stores only.

You may also want to know that it has been scheduled for implementation and the actual work is expected to start soon.
David do you know when the anticipated testing of this feature will begin? It's by far the single most feature that I'm looking forward too and I believe will drastically increase game enjoyment

This feature is being worked on.

It requires changes to the core system and it takes time to implement.

Also it is likely to introduces bugs when it is finished, as it may affect different components of the game that have ties to it.

Nice!

David wrote:I will ask the dev team regarding the technical feasibility of implementing such a multiple floor system.

In the meantime, I would like to know more about what you guys think about:

-how many floors do you think are sufficient?
e.g. 2 floors x 4 products = 8 products max per store.
e.g. 3 floors x 4 products = 12 products max per store.
To me it would require a minimum of 4 floors. I have recently started to place 4 of the same buildings in a cluster because one, two or three of them is simply not enough. I used to avoid this as I always thought that having too many of the same shop in a cluster would discourage customers, but now since learning otherwise, I'm often placing clusters of the same building to meet demand.

But this makes me wonder just how maybe it's more of a balancing issue and rather than try to increase building capacity maybe the game needs to have demand balanced better or have the building workers/etc be more balanced with the growth of the city.
David wrote: -do you prefer a game mechanism where the player has to pay for upgrades to add more floors after building a retail store?
Yes, I would like that
1. You have to close the store.
2. You refurbish the store to add more floors and it takes a while for it to be accomplished.
3. You Pay for this upgrade and finally you re-open the store.
David wrote: -do you prefer the horizontal product list to show only products from the currently selected floor (i.e. 4 products max) or to show all products from all floors (e.g. 12 products max if there are 3 floors)? The first option will require less scrolling and the player just clicks on the floor selector at the bottom of firm detail window to switch the currently selected floor.
I would prefer clicking the box to show the individual floor instead of scrolling through the list as even if it doesn't really matter I like to know what floor is selling what at a quick glance instead of wondering which floor I'm on and what I'm selling there.

I don't like this idea. I love current flat interface. Now you always have a full vision of a firm no matter what. But with several floors you will have to use different interfaces to switch between firms and between floors in them. I will definitely suffer from it while doing periodical health check of my firms.

yeah, i see where ya comming from. healthcheck in retails will be slightly more workper shop but ... it will reduce the ammount of firms to check by 3 floors you only need to check 2.000 stores instead of 6.000 (thats the ammount needed to supply 10 cities in realworld) i doubt the overall workload on checks will be increasing that much, as for myself i check every 6 month the sales of every product in every town and only go into a shop if somehow the sales for this particular shops gone down by just double clicking in product details, only way to find the right shop without searching 5 hours lol
but i would certainly not be happy with additional floors on factories as they allready pull enough to supply a town, and for few goods i produce centralized i dont care about having 4 large firms stuck next to eachother and a warehouse handling the sales.

I got a point. You're probably right.

but for the game balance i think the overhead should increase each floor i.e. if its 50k month for 1 floor, then 100k for 2 n 150k for 3 else it gonna be a huge cut on expanses n this might inbalance the game too much when having 1000 shops with 3 floors , with just the base overhead, would cut the expanses in this example by 1.2 billion per year.
