I'm gonna be all over the pre-order since I missed the proper beta! Can't wait for it to come out!!!

Only thing I can think of, is when you put it on the website it might be good to have a thorough explanation of what exactly someone is buying, for the fans of the game who haven't been reading the forums.

Great news that you are releasing an update for the infamous Capitalism series. Many an hour have I spent playing Cap II (and still visit the game frequently). I read about your initial price (19.99) and think you might be missing the mark here. Most of us avid Cap fans are serious gamers with a business background - ie: higher income level than your average gamer. We also understand the depth of the game. If it was me, I would set a release price of closer to $59.99. I would happily pay that, knowing that money is going to buy me many more hours of enjoyment. Also, the higher price will net more income and provide more resources to continue to improve the game. Wait 12 months, then discount it. I know you have some very hardcore followers, and you should Capitalize (pardon the pun) on that.

Just my thoughts.

There are 2 main reasons why we are offering the game at 50% discount for pre-orders: 1) to thank our early supporters 2) the game still contains bugs and may not be stable in its beta phase.

In fact, we want to emphasize that Cap Lab is just an expansion of Cap 2 and it is not a standalone game nor a project with large development resources. A lot of features that people have been requesting will not be in Cap Lab. Basically it is just as it is.

The last thing we want to do is to disappoint our users. Disappointments only come when there are expectations. When there are no expectations, there will be no disappointment.

The low price point is one of the messages that we intend to send to our users about the positioning of Cap Lab - it is just a mere expansion and it is developed under limited resources and it is not going to have features they want, unless the features are already implemented.

We also put this message on the home page of the Capitalism Lab web site: http://www.capitalismlab.com/ For instance, it explicitly states that there will be no multiplayer in Cap Lab.

We haven't rolled out the pre-orders at the moment, because we are still discussing internally about how to manage user expectations - essentially we don't want our users to get disappointed and expect any additional features rather than those announced on the Cap Lab web site. But we haven't figured out the way to do this effectively yet. (It seems that the message on the Cap Lab web site is not sufficient) Therefore, if any of you have any suggestions, please let us know.

The best way to roll out the expansion and not exceed expectations is to just release it as Capitalism II 2012. I think LAB is confusing. Almost looks like a different game because of the name...

I would call it an "ADD ON" and sell it as Additional Content. PR is very important, good thinking not to rush without informing people.
