Are animals used for multiple things?

My question is really about how the game actually implements processing of animals. Does it use the same animal for multiple things or just one?
What I mean is, if for instance I set up one cattle unit and then link it to 3 processing boxes, one for frozen meat, another for leather, and another for milk, does it use the same cattle to produce all 3 (as in real life) or does it only use each cattle to produce 1 of the 3 as games tend to be more inclined to do?

I think it only uses the cattle stock where it's connected, so for instance, if you were to have leather, meat and milk, you wouldn't yield more than the production of the cattle unit itself could produce.
If you mean by the efficiency of collecting the milk before yielding the leather or meat from each unit, I don't see that as being the case.
My experience is that mixed production units are less efficient and that pure play manufacturing or production tends to gain efficiency through moving the stock to the appropriate sales unit to move out the stock more efficiently rather than gain more production. Particularly in the farming instance, as more turnover tends to increase quality, giving you the ultimate efficiency yield.

Basically the game will use the 1 cattle to go to any of the processing units you create. the issues becomes when the processing unit requires more cattle then it is given.
For example I clicked on the processing unit and you need to watch the Utilization rate, it its at 100 you are maxing out. I have found 3 sales units is over kill, but help if you have a ton of supermarkets buying from the one farm, otherwise i add another cattle unit, so my processing stays busy.

Also need to watch the bars on each unit.
