Gone are the days of manually writing and editing script files. With our web-based Script Generator, you can now design your own Capitalism Lab scenarios using an intuitive user interface. Choose from a wide range of advanced configuration options, including:

Environment settings: Cities, start-up capital, random events, and more
Competitor controls: AI behavior, expertise, company focus, and private companies
Product and seaport management: Import quality, product classes, and seaport products
Custom cities: Define city location, population, and economic parameters
Special rules and DLC settings: Set up advanced rules, enable DLC features, and tweak game mechanics
Player expertise: Assign detailed skill levels to your character
Game goals and rewards: Set victory conditions and custom rewards

You can also save your script settings as a JSON file directly from the webpage using the [Save Settings] button, and load it later to continue editing your work at any time.

Once you’ve crafted your perfect scenario, simply copy or download the generated script file and add it to your Capitalism Lab game. No scripting knowledge required!

Please note:
This is a beta version and it may contain bugs. If you encounter any issues or have suggestions, please report them to us. Your feedback is invaluable for improving the Script Generator.

Looks interesting.

Would be nice if the difficulty percentage could be seen as people change the options, so they know roughly what level challenge they will be getting ?

Would also be helpful it it highlighted an error if player enters an invalid value. e.g. it had no problem creating

[COMPETITORS]
Number of Competitors=666

Competitor Startup capital is missing the "Massive" option and so it seems is the web page https://www.capitalismlab.com/scripts/s ... mpetitors/

Since there are several active versions around at one time - release, post release and potentially a beta, its probably worth listing what version its for.

Imports has been changed to products ? but Imports still works in script ?

Retail Cost Modifier=100 i cant find this in the new settings but the game doesnt tell me its not allowed when i use a script with it in ? there are others to i think like Disable Local Economy=No Disable Generating Commercial Buildings=No Consumer Demand Modifier=100 Firm Employment Effect=15 Public Facilities Capacity Modifier=500

A lot of the bank options seem to be missing i filled all the options in but only ended up with this being created in the script -
[BANKING AND FINANCE DLC]
Aggressiveness of AI banks and insurance companies=High
Number of AI Companies Focused on Banking=None
Number of AI Companies Focused on Insurance=None
Savings Rate Modifier=200
Base Loan Interest Rate=Moderate
Initial Net Interest Spread=3
Maximum Loans-to-Assets Ratio=90
Feature Bank=Yes
Feature Bond=Yes
Feature Insurance=Yes
Feature Global Stock=Yes
Realistic Loan Demand=Yes

This is interesting - I notice that it is only in JSON format so I can't upload my existing scripts into it. Not a big deal of course but it does mean I have to manually copy over my existing settings.

Some other things I found looking through it:
Optional: Specify a MOD file to load with this script
It might be helpful here to provide an example as it might imply that it wants the file extension as well (but it does not). For example: RealWorld

When using the option 'Save Settings' it auto downloads a file by default to the browser's default directory. I think it should open a window to let the user choose where the file should go. Reason is because it loads a new file with the same name each time, creating a new set of files:

This text description should clarify that it overrides the Your Start Up Capital setting:

This part here about inflation is not accurate. Inverse is not 'Deflation' it is when prices remain the same but cash loses its purchasing power.

From this page:
https://www.capitalismlab.com/new-features/inflation/
There is a special mode called “Inverse Inflation,” where cash loses its purchasing power as a result of inflation. The Purchasing Power Index starts at 100% and diminishes during years of inflation. All cash and loan amounts shrink in accordance with this index.
So perhaps the description should be:
'Inverse' means that prices remain the same but cash loses purchasing power over time.

The number of competitors should mention that this excludes Digital Companies:

This should specify company controlled banks as if banks are disabled then there is only one, default non-player bank:

Also, the checkboxes don't work correctly. If ticked the script will add the line with Yes, but if unticked the line is deleted. It means that you can't specify that banks are not allowed (if the line is unspecified then banks are allowed by default). Same problem for all of the other checkboxes.

--
This description of Knowledge Points in Import Companies is inaccurate. It should be that you cannot use knowledge points in Import Companies (same problem with the description for Export Company Knowledge Points):

Thank you both for your feedback.

All reported bugs have been fixed. Please use the same link https://capitalismlab.com/script-generator.html to access the updated version.

Regarding the suggestion to specify a folder for saving, please note that browser limitations currently restrict saving files to the default download folder only.

Please also note that both "IMPORTS" and "PRODUCTS" headings function the same in a script.

The Capitalism Lab Script Generator has been updated with a new "Locks" page, enabling you to lock specific firms and products within your custom scenarios. These locked items can then be unlocked by reaching designated goals.

You can specify any custom text you want into the product field, so yes it should work with RealWorld.

Every time I try to load a game with a script I get an error message that reads: Error loading the save game. Product_Types.DBF validation failed - the number of product types int he MOD is different from the save game. Please check if the MOD file is of the right version. I'm using the updated MODs (Real World with service edition and Modern World) and I never touch the products so I don't understand what's wrong. I've tried everything others have mentioned but nothing works. I even created a script with just the title and no changes, but the game still crashes. I've sent a couple emails to customer service but I'm a bit anxious to get this game working! :)

I posted this in technical support but wasn't sure if this was the proper forum.

I noticed that your specify "9142025" in the Mod field of your script as follows:

[HEADER]
Title=9.14.25 version
Description=trying again
MOD=9142025

The error may be caused by specifying an invalid mod.

Please try removing "9142025" from the MOD field in your script generator and it may resolve the problem.

It works. OMG - I'm so embarrassed.
