New Feature: Purchases and sales of land plots

You can now purchase and sell land plots in the game.

Acquire land plots at low prices and sell them at high prices to make a profit.

Buy real estate for hedging against inflation.

So are those plots one quarter of the size of the build-footprint of an R&D unit, and can they be bought individually rather than (or as well as) in multiples? Because if so, this will solve one of the annoying things with the AI in mid/late game when it starts to fill in those small gaps around the edges of my firms by constructing the commercial building with the narrow footprint.

Dear David,

After the land plots could be sold without development, the usage of mansion become a question. Would it be possible to sell mansion to public? It will be a beautiful estate project, and funny new function. If one AI company is a specialist of real estate development, the city arrangement will be better.

I suggest the market of mansion could be set to low unit construction cost but high selling price. However, it is very sensitive to environmental rating and it is independence market from apartment.

The target location of mansion is country area.

I read that natural resources are going to be alot higher priced. What happens if a new resource becomes available on a plot of land allready owned by a player (human or AI)?

Actually it is designed in a way that natural resources will not become available on a plot of land allready owned by a company.
