Currency ... (and Resources) things I would like

Would like the option to choose the currency my corporation uses, maybe allow choosing the ten most popular, and a wildcard entry so you can enter you own (if I want to be paid in rabbits why cant I)

I would like a tickbox that means resources don't expire or certainly last a lot longer... im sure this one has been discussed a lot of times - but setting up two bed factories and a forest "runs out" in a year at most, same with gold mines and the like... realistically if an area had resources for such a short period it wouldn't be worth the outlay - and those such as forests tend to replant trees etc. even resource areas with fairly small supplies... like north sea oil have been going for 50 years with. I would like to see less resource sources with more longevity. this also would make a mining only company more practical. it would make resource acquisition more realistic.. since you cant get every resource in every country. would remove some unrealistic micromanagement

The inevitable side effect of this is that natural resources with greater reserves will be more expensive to acquire. Right now a single natural resource site can already cost upward of $100 million. If it is going to cost even more, I am quite sure that there will be players who will complain about it.

that's why I suggest the checkbox as an optional

As it stands I just tend to avoid certain product categories, never make anything using wood or gold since it just goes down to fast... in the case of timber this is renewable so I don't really think should run out as many forestry areas plant new trees.

I would like to see it more "buying a lease" to mine the land rather than just buying the mine. after all many countries such as UK, US the government/states etc retain rights over certain minerals. if mining companies don't own the land pay the landowner a lease, dead rent (paying fixed rent ignoring if it is making a profit or even if minerals are being extracted) or royalties (on the resources extracted). This would have the advantage of making it less expensive to start mining at the beggining when money isn't so easy but making it still have a financial impact no matter how big the company gets.

(would also like game to start paused and have option to auto pause on events needing player input, such as factory material source breaking if it cant find a new source)

If you like, you may modify the reserve quantity of natural resources with the MOD file and see how it will affect the gameplay.

About Modding natural resources:
http://www.capitalismlab.com/advanced-m ... urces.html

See the field: RES_QTY

It is highly likely that the AI will not have sufficient cash to buy the natural resources and thus resulting in a general lack of supply of raw materials on the market.

If you also decrease the costs of acquiring natural resource sites, natural resource companies may become too profitable and thus adversely affect gameplay balance.

-------------

In fact, a better solution would be to use the new "Redirect Clients" function which is available in the latest release version 2.7.17.

Details:
http://www.capitalismlab.com/forum/view ... f=7&t=2966

14) A new "Redirect Clients" button will be available on the Sales Unit interface of firms that supply raw materials or products to other firms.

If any of your other firms have broken supply links which requires the same item that this Sales unit is selling, you may use this button to redirect the supply link to the current Sales unit.

For instance, your mine’s reserve has exhausted, and you have just built a new mine, then you may use this button to redirect supply links to the new mine.

Hi Parker, I have found your post:
Many have commented on their desire to improve the resource system due to factors like depletion speed, and availability. I have a solution.

Resources should be zoned. By this I mean that more than one resource firm should be allowed to be placed in each resource zone. This simulates reality in for example the mining industry, multiple companies have firms (mines) in the same area of say iron.
Could you please elaborate how this suggestion will resolve the problem I stated earlier, as follows?

The inevitable side effect of this is that natural resources with greater reserves will be more expensive to acquire. Right now a single natural resource site can already cost upward of $100 million. If it is going to cost even more, I am quite sure that there will be players who will complain about it.
