Hello, im kind of new in this game. Well, what I've done is to play with the stock markey until I got a huge amount of money, my plan was to absorb everyone, but at the same time I created farms to produce food like chicken, beef, lamb, eggs... I didnt like factories so or brands so I wanted to go from farm with high quality to my shops. I thought that If I merge with the other big companies I wouldnt be able to reorganice all their stuff, because I was in a very specific sector, and maybe its because im noob but I thing that would be a hell and didnt even know how to do it.
So as my food industry was a little one compared to the others, and my main business was stock market, I sell all my stocks and get lots of money, and went to every city (I play with 7) and built 2 newspappers, 2 TV's and 2 radios in each.
I had a COO hired to manage almost everything as I was looking for stocks, so I put him in the new bussines of media and it was ok.
Soon I started to make way more money than any other company. Lots and lots of money.
At this point I think that I had to do nothing but to buy every media available for sale, and thats what I did.
But now Im going down, dont know why, my newspappers and radios give me 7 b each. And I got some questions.

The first one is that the TV sector just looses money, like 9 b. I dont get why this is happening at all, got no clue.
The other big question. I could have sell all my retail, fabrics and farms (yes, I got some fabrics that I made after to make new products), even TV and just see how I can make btw 14 and 16 b easily. But I want to learn how to make a business with products.
Im making btw 1-3 b now.
The problem is that when I wanna get rid of my COO to organice myself, I dont know how to do a lot of things.

Those things are:

- When I try to find what's loosing money Im unable to. Because when I check the retail stores are loosing money all of them, but farms are doing great. If I tell my COO to activate internal sale and put it at cost, then I see the oposite, my retails making money, and farms loosing.
Thats mainly because at cost for my COO is to sell at 0.01. But that doesnt mantain the facility. I would like to put internal on every product but at the real cost of mantain. I mean, when I see my farms I wanna see them not loosing or winning money, just staying. But dont know how to do it.

- It would be nice to be able to manage prices in all the cities seeing an averange, I dont care to loose money on some if I get it on others, but you have to adjust city by city. I dont know how can I handle a lot of retail stores one by one in order to keep the prices competitive.

- When I let my COO to auto purchase stuff for a firm, he does buy 3 of the same. I would like to know if in a retail store if you only sell 1 product instead of 3 diferent you make more money or something.

- Also, if I wanna make a product that comes from a fabric, whats the proportion btw farms-fabrics to get an optimiced production? I wanna know if I need 2 farms for a big fabric or 2 fabrics for a big farm or what.

Also I would love to know if in the retail stores you use the "inventory" slot. Dont know if it is usefull and what for, the same with private labeling.

The COO does a terrible job with managing retail stores unless they are unimportant. I tend to let them run my stores in ultra small markets that can't make money.

The COO tend to excel at Media, however, from my experience and input from others only one media firm per city is actually needed.

I haven't seen the inventory unit in a retail store actually be useful. The only time I've used inventory was in factories to build up a reserve of farm/raw material products which I then ship out to a warehouse who serves actual end customers. This is cost intensive but I experienced an issue where chemical materials would exhaust extremely quickly so I use an inventory warehouse to provide a buffer against this.

In summary:
1. Manage retail stores yourself
2. Try running only 1 media firm per city and due all your advertising between that.
3. If you want to see what is using money go to Corporate Report > Products at the bottom filter by production and retail and that should help you identify where if anything is losing money.
4. Media firms clients tend to switch often and are not loyal which may be what you are experiencing.
5. Inventory is not useful in retail store but depending on your situation may be useful to use in warehouses.
