I've tested this now a few times and always seem to have the same results.

I use a script that establishes 30 AI companies. The script then sets the business focus of those AI companies. However, whenever I include AI expertise within the script the game does not seem to follow the script any longer. Instead of having 30 AI companies the game only has 5.

If I remove the AI expertise the game loads all 30 AI companies.

Here is how the script file reads:

Competitor Start-up Capital=High
Competitor Aggressiveness=Moderate
Competitor Expertise Level=High
Show Competitor Trade Secrets=Yes
AI Friendly Merger=Yes
Competence of Local Competitors=Moderate
Retail Focused Companies=7
Stock Focused Companies=4
Real Estate Focused Companies=4
Media Focused Companies=3
Tech Focused Companies=4
Diversified Companies=8
AI Product Expertise=Building Materials,1
AI Product Expertise=Tools,1
AI Product Expertise=Insurance,2
AI Product Expertise=Automobile,2

Please change your Competitor Expertise Level to Moderate or High and try again (see below screenshot).

My competitor expertise is already set at high. I'll try moderate

Switching it to moderate seemed to do the trick
