Hi David
What I would really like to see is a 'duplicate firm' button. If used, you would select a firm, pick a new location, and it would build a new one which would be an exact copy of the original (except training level).
This would really help in regards to retail firms and factories
This button could either be in the main build menu, or inside a firm (next to the demolish/relocate/for sale buttons)
Suggestion: Duplicate Firm and/or "linked orders" feature

Re: Suggestion: Duplicate Firm button
You know that you can save a layoutplan for your firm, and then use it in a new firm?

Yes, I know about layout plans, and I use them.
I just thought a button like that would be even more convienient

Re: Suggestion: Duplicate Firm and/or "linked orders" featur
Hi David
I am reviving one of my old suggestions, but I do still think this would be useful.
Most of the micromanagement in the game comes from either setting up your initial factory/retail outlets or changing suppliers.
(Before it was also changing prices, but the "Apply all" button has made that manageable now)
It would be good if firms could be "duplicated" at the push of a button. You would have to select which firm to duplicate and still select the location, but it would then recreate the original firm INCLUDING the original firm's supplier selections
An even more ambitious option would also be the ability to link these firms together so that any changes to the suppliers in one will filter through to the others too. It would be alot harder to implement but would really help eliminate micromanagement. (Inspiration for this one comes from OTTD- Open Transport Tycoon Deluxe, where the orders of your vehicles, such as trains, can be linked together and a change in orders for one will automatically change it for all of them)
For both these options, although having them gamewide would be desirable, but having them citywide would probably be more achievable

both ideas are very good mwyeoh
Specialy after a few years when you have over 30 factories/stores/farms etc those options realy reduce the micromanagement when you want to extend a production line due to high demand.

We are in the process of tuning the game to reduce the micromanagement, reducing the need to set up so many factories.
If at the end, micromanagement is unavoidable, we will consider implementing this suggestion or the XL factory suggestion.
