Would be nice to get a few more new buildings for apartments and commercials.

What is it for? To increase land usage efficiency?
I think that the better way is to rebalance existing buildings. Right now there's no need to build different types of apartmrnts. You always build the most efficient and it's always one type except for the very early game.
Also higher buildings make map more difficult to use. Even now we need a way to rotate map because it is the only way to access certain buildings.

There is already a button for hiding apartment and commercial buildings.

In fact it's not about buildings rebalance. it's about the game evolution. Where should I need tier1 apartments? only in one case: when the competition is tough and tier3 building just won't be filled in. For this I need to have a totally different AI. I need a lot of tough competitors instead of a limited amount of money bags. And it'n not only CapLab's problem it is a commonplace in AI.
