planting, environment regrowing

How difficult would it be to implement a way for the trees, environment to regrow after demolishing a building, or just have a way to grow a forest or something?
You can do that in City Economics DLC. Mayors can plant trees city-wide.
And correct me if i'm wrong David, but the tiny houses that are present on other maps will automatically build themselves over time.
