Capitalism 2 and Capitalism Lab Forum

Sometimes advertising helps my brand, sometimes it doesn't. I haven't done extensive testing, but I think that when the media firm is for sale is when my advertising has no effect. Sometimes I've seen all media firms in a city being for sale ... if so, how can I raise my brand in that case? Is this a bug? I'm on the latest patch, 5.9.02.

I tried to attach my save file, but I get "invalid extension".

Please advise.

Could you please provide us with your save game file and let us know the following?
1) Which version of Capitalism Lab you are using. You can see the version number on the top-right of the main menu.
2) The exact steps for triggering the bug with the save game
3) If your savegame uses a MOD, please let us know the name of the MOD and the MOD's version number.

You can find save game files of Capitalism Lab from the C:\Users\<your user name>\Documents\My Games\Capitalism Lab\SAVE

• Version 5.9.02 Release
  No MODs. I am playing with only Subsidiary DLC enabled, and playing the 3rd Subsidiary scenario

Reproduction:

• Find a media firm that is For Sale
  Link an Advertising unit to that Media Firm (in the attached save, the TV station in Paris is For Sale)
  Wait (1 month, 1 year, 1 decade, doesn't matter) - brand does NOT increase

I didn't realize I had to zip up the save -- attached : For what it's worth, the Advertising issue isn't limited to this save; I believe it happens any time I link to a media firm that's For Sale.

I tested your save game and set up a new department store in Paris and linked advertisement to the TV station in Paris. The advertisement worked well and the brand rating increased from 0 to 8. Attached is the save game file for your testing.
