Hello,
I have been playing around with this feature and have seen in the forums people having problems with getting their Managers of Subs to take action?

I have tried many things to get my CEOs to be successfull in running and expanding their companies.

Tried giving them Huge amounts of Money + Factories and retail and tech in certain areas only for them to do nothing with their expertise.

I notice it will say something like ceo wont expand as not enough money needs 83,000,000 or something like that but the company in question has over 2 million in initial capital, it doesnt make sense to me?

SO!!!
i am hoping to get a bunch of tips from people on how to make these companies work?
do people just use them as holding companies and manage everything themselves?

I also struggle to see the value of a COO and never really notice them make a difference when i employ them?

Would love some helpful tips and hints on hiring executives, personalities that are good ect ect and if this makes a difference?

After you inject capital into subsidary, you should run game for a while, I think it updates monthly, so try to run it for a month and see if it stills say you need 83 000 000, to start expand.
And for me persoanly i manage everything myself, i just use subsidaries to separate buisness segments and have clear view on their profits and efficiency.

Yeah i have let it run for many months and years and they just never develop or expand as much as they should or could with all the funding in the world

so you just hire any old CEO and set all their settings to do nothing and then just plant buildings in their name and set prices ect ect?

I assume you never hire a COO either?

not any, specialisations still matter a bit, for example for my farming sub i hire ceo with high skill in farming, turn off almost all settings too, i let him/her be in control of firms, but i setup the farms layouts and productionsonly real control he/she have is on prices, becouse if i take control of them, they loose bonus from CEO in the area. Later on when staff is trained to max i can take the control if CEO is overdoing with prises

I always use a COO. That way I don´t have to micromanage the stores.
I tend to hire a good retail-skilled COO to change prices and products there while I manage factories and farms. Esp. farms, where you need to max. the training budget to get good quality products.
If the COO has good marketing skills then you can skip hiring a CMO: Advertising is also something I tend to delegate.
Even more, if the COO has also good research skills then I choose the R&D projects and let the COO manage the labs.

After you set-up a subsidiary and choose a CEO, there are options that you can set to direct the CEO actions. If they have enough cash and the personality traits, a CEO will expand as directed. I use subsidiaries specifically for managing pricing for whatever product class they are in. I do the heavy lifting setting up the supply chain, including raw materials, factories, warehouses and stores. CEOs relieve me from price micro management, collecting millions per year either maximizing profit margin, increasing market share, or sitting somewhere in between.

I don't use a COO unless I'm this huge corporation with no subsidiaries.
