As it's not uncommon after a while to get nostalgic in the industry - just look at the retro-gaming - I propose to have the possibility to have both or more designs.

I think fresh paint, if you will, gives the game a more modern look. Considering that Cap 2 released in 2001 and Cap Lab 2012, I welcome improved looks. I would note the option to switch between classic or modern is an interesting choice. even while feeling the changes aren't so drastic that I would want it implemented.

I personally think the new icons are fine.

What I think would be great is if we could toggle to the old icons, but still use the new layout which pins the icon bar to the left of the screen without any space from the edges.

I agree, the new layout is ok the new icons takes a bit of time to get used to. The problem is I think that other menu's still look older and it isn't consistend across the whole game. So perhaps it should be a complete overhaul in the near future.
