If you are anything like me, then you will most likely set range as your brand at the start of a new game, as its more accessible in terms of building competency across products fairly quickly (unless you specifically choose to challenge yourself to a corporate brand game) - in which case also much like me you will discover too late that your early game advances were a waste of your time as you realise you accidentally left it on unique.....

I know that brand can be set as a fixed value by script, but it seems that its then no longer changeable. I'd simply like it set as the default (its the middle road option after all) or allow brand strategy to be scripted to default to whichever is chosen, but still be changeable later in game. Either works.

I prefer setting this option via script if made available. I prefer the unique brand because. True, it takes longer and more cash to build brand recognition for each individual item and protects the same from less than great options in the same product family. I never use a corporate brand.

The only True Way is to do Corporate Brand and create subsidiaries for anything outside of your Product Mega Class

Honestly this could easily be a game option when you setup a custom game, choose your CEO name, corporation name, logo, color and ... ta da Brand Strategy.

This way you will never forget and the game will remember your personal preference.

Of course the other option is to git gud and on day 1 you set your brand strategy to corporate because by now you know that is the professional way to play

Hi Saffgee, your suggestion has been implemented. The upcoming version 6.6.00 will allow you to add the following line in a script file:

[SPECIAL RULES]
Brand Strategy=<Corporate Brand/Range Brand/Unique Brand>

Use this line to set the player corporation’s brand strategy to a specified strategy in the beginning of the game.
