I think the game could benefit greatly from friendly mergers being done by players. The already existing player character relations with NPCs could be utilized to make this possible, where it would be necessary to have a positive relationship with all major shareholders of the target of the friendly merger. In addition, i think this would require some means of increasing relations with NPCs without them being your staff, perhaps through gifting properties like mansions, or selling firms to them at lower than market value?

Personally I am not sure how this could be effectively implemented without adding a lot of complexity or potentially exploiting the AI. I think this is a bit similar to the idea of a Tender Offer.

Perhaps this could work if the good relations with other AI Persons is required, that way you actually have to put in the work of making them happy.

To improve relations the following could be done:

- Former executives of your company that go on to be hired by other companies - have good relations with you.
- Business relations - friendly mergers could be more feasible if you have a long standing, interdependent business relationship. For example I sell Furniture, you sell Timber, let's merge. We could perhaps have the relationships improved by just trading with one another like that (and of course it could go negative if there is a sudden price jump or an abrupt cutting off of trade or if they compete for the same markets).
- Perhaps also improving relations by allowing them to buy stock in your company at a discount. The merger might go easier if the executives being kicked out get a good share payout (even if it comes at the expense of the player's personal shareholdings).
- Might also need restrictions in a merger - perhaps if the merged company has too much control of the market it could be blocked on Antitrust grounds.

Some interesting ideas to explore, but it might make things complicated though so I'm not sure how feasible this is.
