Bug with 2 DLCs

Post by orjanjoh »

Hey, I don't know if it's just me, but I had a problem where banks would suddenly stop giving loans and eventually go bankrupt no matter what you do, both my banks and AI. This effectively breaks the game as the AI banks will suddenly get bailed out with 20-30 billion dollars when they go under, which is more money than the combined stock market in the early game (and market cap can shoot up to 800B dollars). I tried a thousand different things a million times and figured out it was the City Economics DLC that messed things up, and I noticed GDP growth stays at 0 when it is active. Has anyone else had this problem, or know of a possible solution? Would really like to play with both DLCs

Sorry if this is not the correct place to post, I'm bad at navigating these forums

We will investigate the problem.

Could you please provide us with your save game file and let us know the following?
1) Which version of Capitalism Lab you are using. You can see the version number on the top-right of the main menu.
2) The exact steps for triggering the bug with the save game
3) If your savegame uses a MOD, please let us know the name of the MOD and the MOD's version number.

You can find save game files of Capitalism Lab from the C:\Users\<your user name>\Documents\My Games\Capitalism Lab\SAVE

You may provide us with your save game file by posting it here on the forum as a ZIP file attachment or emailing the save game file to us at info@enlight.com.

If your save game file is too large for attachment, you may check out this post about how to send us large files: https://www.enlight.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=2473

always have all DLCs activated, and havnt had any bank busting since a few month when the dev team fixed the AI issues with it, only 1 of the AI banks usually grows 2-3 years rapidly and then pulls all profits out and invests in stocks or other stuff, but keeps at around 30% market share which is ok i guess, else those banks get super sized companies that gonna be near impossible to break.

i only seen sometimes loan difficulties once hitting A credit rating then suddenly you barely or not getting loans at all for years.

before this Bank fix the banks broke regularly after 2-5 years of operations taking every time about 5-8 billion savings with em and due to stock market back fire it will be 15-20 billion artificially inflated share money that will go puff, but thats normal as companies pushing each other up with artificial share prices like IRL

also GDP is working properly too for me, more population = more consume, if of course in 1 year too many invest several billions then the year after can be the beginning of a big downturn, if you didnt scramble the game too heavily with a script, i can only assume that you play with an older version of the game before all this stuff had been fixed

The bank stops giving loans because the bank capital ratio is lower than the required ratio.

Please see this article for more details: https://www.capitalismlab.com/banking-d ... uirements/

I also recommend that you check out this banking strategy guide: https://www.capitalismlab.com/banking-strategy/

That is definitely not the issue, because when I add cash to the bank to fix the capital ratio, the problem is still there. I am 100% certain it is a problem with my City Economics DLC. Can you please check out the GDP growth and other GDP graphs in this save file, there is definitely something wrong with it.

Also, I have tried letting the game run for many years, the AI banks will always fail, every single time, because new loans stop being available. I have done banking many times, and neither my banks or the AI banks have ever failed.

Please try putting on full speed, and watching the AI bank for years, its income statement and balance sheet. There is something wrong
