Hi David
I am reviving one of my old suggestions, but I do still think this would be useful.
Most of the micromanagement in the game comes from either setting up your initial factory/retail outlets or changing suppliers.
(Before it was also changing prices, but the "Apply all" button has made that manageable now)
It would be good if firms could be "duplicated" at the push of a button. You would have to select which firm to duplicate and still select the location, but it would then recreate the original firm INCLUDING the original firm's supplier selections
An even more ambitious option would also be the ability to link these firms together so that any changes to the suppliers in one will filter through to the others too. It would be alot harder to implement but would really help eliminate micromanagement. (Inspiration for this one comes from OTTD- Open Transport Tycoon Deluxe, where the orders of your vehicles, such as trains, can be linked together and a change in orders for one will automatically change it for all of them)
For both these options, although having them gamewide would be desirable, but having them citywide would probably be more achievable
