Naming Brands & Acquiring/Selling valuable Brands

Naming brands

I think it would be really nice if we could name our brands like we can with firms in the game.
It could look something like this.



by hovering over the product it would show the brands name.





Brand-Name-Trading

Another idea would be the possibility of selling own valuable brands for money or buying them from competitors who are in need of a quick buck, in the same mechanics like we can acquire technology from competitors.

The "worth" & total rating of a brand could be defined by:

- How old & established the brand is (older brands would be more valuable)
- The total of money invested from the company into advertisement of the brand.
- Technology-level that was used in this brand's products and customers were accustomed too.
- Price range of the product/s that used this brand. Products that had a steady price range for a long periode of the time tend to value more.

How would you suggest about displaying brand names on the Products report and the Product Details report, as well as on the Firm Detail screen?

IMO, I would put custom brand names in Product screens right after the product name with [ ] if a company is selected. It would be easy to show in Product Detail, plenty of room left in product name block. And in corporation details brand, the Brand Awareness and Brand Loyalty can be shorten to just Awareness and Loyalty for extra room to put the addition column of brand name (or just pop-up tag like Dav3 proposed.

More details need to be brought up though, like there should be different brand names for different cities, since they obviously have regional limitation, and how to "merge" a brand name after its purchased? completely rewritten existing loyalty and awareness? or reset everything toward awareness? or just awareness is transfer? Also how to define its value? They will become part of the intangible asset, the financial reports need to be updated. Finally, what about default brand name? obviously if every time linking a new ads agency require naming process is unreasonable, and I don't think come up with dozens of names in so many cities will be fun in the end. Perhaps a very generic product_name_city_name, class_name_city_name, corporation_name_city_name would be suffice.
