yes win xp pro sp3 (german)
and if i try to run the game the error message is ... "CapStart.exe ist keine zulaessige Win32-Anwendung" (capstart isnt a permissible Win32 program)
thats all i get no further informattions as the program can't be executed at all

Please try overwriting your existing CapStart file in your Capitalism Lab folder with the attached CapStart file and see if there is any difference.

You can locate your Capitalism Lab program folder by right-clicking on the Capitalism Lab game icon and select “Properties”, then select “Open File Location” to open the folder.

When I try to install 2.7.20, i get the 2.7.17 installer...

What I'm doing wrong?

I just tested downloading the installer and it installed correctly for v2.7.20. I would recommend you download and run the installer again.
