Will you be interested in buying the Subsidiary DLC if we offer the following special promotion for a limited time period:
Assuming that the regular selling price of the Subsidiary DLC is $9.99 (we haven't decided on the final price yet, let's assume that it is $9.99 for now.)
As an existing owner of Capitalism Lab, you will get the Subsidiary DLC for free if you recommend the game to a friend and he/she buys the Captialism Lab bundle (any of the bundles will be fine).
And thanks to your reference, your friend will also get the Subsidiary DLC for free along with the purchase of the bundle.
e.g. for $19.99, your friend will get: Capitalism Lab + 3 free games bundle + Subsidiary DLC.
Please vote and let us know if you think this is a good deal or not.
If you have any suggestions for marketing this DLC alternatively, feel free to post your ideas as well. Thanks.

Re: Marketing survey
I think 9.99 is a good price for the DLC especially if the DLC will continue being supported and updated.
This is a very niche game I don't see a refer a friend being successful. If you were on amazon or Stream a discount or free for a good review of the game would be effective. I rather see you guys get $9.99 for the DLC to funnel back into development and support.

Re: Marketing survey
Hint Hint - Steam Release - Hint Hint (if it came out on steam or gog I would buy base game again + expansion)
Personally I would rather just buy the expansion rather than all the trying to get someone else to buy it then wait while his purchase is linked to me etc.
Its a good deal sure but I would just buy it outright. (assuming I don't have to log in to my account to buy it, as I haven't been able to log into my online account since I registered in early 2014, using windows 7/8/10 or internet explorer/firefox/opera)

Re: Marketing survey
Not really no. I've seen what kind of spam plans like these can create due to Users mass flooding other gaming forums in an attempt to get perfect strangers to buy using their link.
Maybe it would benefit the game/publisher/developer by offering this, but ultimately it looks bad (at least in my eyes) for the game itself when I see people start to spam forums to get somebody to buy through their affiliate link.
Personally, I'd just buy the DLC if I thought it was worth the $9.99 before trying to spam forums to get strangers to buy through my link, or even by sending out emails to friends, I'd just rather give up the $9.99 to buy the DLC (if I really wanted it).

Re: Marketing survey
personally i am happy to pay 10 bucks, and if ya start giving it out for free, nice move but wont help ya to fill the bucket for the development expenses. i guess most players wouldnt even bother to try find someone and wait till purchases are actually done and validated to get the free version, like written above, its not a standard game that attracts many players to have this kind of promotion. either you like it or ya dont, and if ya like it you be happy to support the game with a tiny 10 bucks donation once in a while for expansions.

Re: Marketing survey
I think you guys have made a good point regarding the niche appeal of the game. This marketing approach is probably better suited for games with mass appeal than CapLab.

I agree with city builder. I prefer to buy the expansion.
I would like to see this game in steam. I don't know if it has a lot of expenses in there but it is a good promotion channel.

Re: Marketing survey
The only way i would attempt to do marketing like this is if the multiplayer part was implemented again. That would give me reason to get friends into the game.

Re: Marketing survey
I'm like everyone else. Cap lab is a great game that fits into specific gamers and I'm not sure it would work to refer a friend to it. I'd honestly just pay full price and would skip trying to find someone who I think would fit the demo.
