In my game Morgan Lafay is the wealthiest local billionaire in the game so I decided to do a little research on her and found some interesting things.
Background Check:
1. She ran a company that went bankrupt on Feb 14 1999 (happy V-Day Morgan)
2. She then became a individual investor
3. Even though she is an individual investor her profile is stating that she is drawing a salary, I thought this was a new development which actually would be cool because after about 100 years people become poor but I checked other individual inventors and they do not draw a salary.
4. I noticed she owned 14% of Victory Group which is a large corporation but its not clear where she obtained the stocks she holds as her SEC fillings don't show her at anytime purchasing the company stock.
5. I checked Victory Groups history and went back to Feb 1999 and there's no indication of a friendly manager.
What in the world is going on with Morgan Lafay? Why does it say she has a salary as an indie investor?

That 24m/year salary looks like a bug but her huge amount of cash is from stock sales.

Yea...what I wonder is how much stock does a company get during a friendly merger? Why did her bankrupt company? (does I company have to not be viable to do a friendly merger?) result in her getting so many shares?megapolis wrote:That 24m/year salary looks like a bug but her huge amount of cash is from stock sales.
That 24 million salary I think is a bug.

Re: Bug? Background Check: Morgan Lafay
archor was morgans company and she mostlikely had a huge percentage of stock off this corporation, the corporation ceased to exists once it merged with victory and archor shares got exchanged for victory shares and those shares got highly valuable in the next 15 years. hard to compare if you dont have spreadsheets for company value of companies in 1999 before the merger occured. that would show how much victory was worth and how much archor, then calculate the amount of shares morgan owned on archor compared to the new total value of all shares of victory. its same like if indie investors own shares of player company bought at 10$ and sell at 50k$ gonna make them super duper rich in just a few years.
the salary shown in her profile ... just check every month if the cash changes by 1/12 of the salary, if so she is still getting it and its a bug ... if she doesnt get the money then its not of relevance if it shows 0 or 27m

I would kill for spreadsheet output of game and company data. like the ability to export all my retails stores historical finnicial information to a excel.anjali wrote:archor was morgans company and she mostlikely had a huge percentage of stock off this corporation, the corporation ceased to exists once it merged with victory and archor shares got exchanged for victory shares and those shares got highly valuable in the next 15 years. hard to compare if you dont have spreadsheets for company value of companies in 1999 before the merger occured. that would show how much victory was worth and how much archor, then calculate the amount of shares morgan owned on archor compared to the new total value of all shares of victory. its same like if indie investors own shares of player company bought at 10$ and sell at 50k$ gonna make them super duper rich in just a few years.

David,
When AI persons are discharged from their companies they still report having an annual salary while being an independent investor....this is still happening in latest patch.

I tested it and I didn't encounter the same problem. Please provide me with your save game file for investigation.WilliamMGary wrote:David,

Fire the CMO and check her salary in personal reports once she becomes an individual investor.
