Scope of Production - Retail

Post by Arcnor »

Question, when I set the scope of production does that limit only the manufacturer of specific product classes or the retail of products too?

I always thought that if I limited the scope of production that it would also limit what products the sub would retail, but I have observed that is not the case. If that is the intention then its an error in the code. If it is not the intention then perhaps it should be.

scope of production - exactly what it says "Production" therefore it doesnt apply to retailing.
if you want a well managed retail of your sub, you gonna have to strip all rights of the ceo and only let him/her do the pricing else they mess it up anyway.

Well that clears that up then.

My suggestion then would be to allow the user to limit a sub's retail also. This could be done by either limiting the product classes the sub could sell or by limiting the type of retail buildings that could be built.

In this way I could create a "Toys R Us" and limit them to only building toy stores.

you can limit it, if you select "only purchase from own / parent firms and only set your toy factories to "group" internal sale. that way the sub can only purchase the toys as everything else is on internal sale for the parent corp only.

or just dont let them build shops, build them yourself and fill them with the products you like to sell and dont let the ceo of the sub change anything as he gonna screw up the distribution anyway. just let them be a price robot ;p
