Hello everyone,
in order to try out the new DLC I've created a script that makes the game very easy to play so I could focus on the subsidiary part.
As I set the experience level for technology for my character to 100 it was, of course, easy to develop i.e. 3D-graphics and the video game interface to some very high level in quite a short time. My idea was the following: I set up a main company that only focuses on developing new technologies (or improves known ones). It would sell its tech levels to its subsidiaries at some enormously high price and found new subsidiaries with the money made. That, however, doesn't seem to be working.
When I click on the "acquire technology from other company" button at my subsidiaries hq and pick a technology I have developed with my parent company their CEO (hence...me) refuses to sell this technology to competitors.
I have tried this with my subsidiaries' tech level at 0 and at something around 114 (the better tech was just slightly better). Considering tech offers is, of course, turned on in the options menu. The version is 3.202. It's possible, however, to buy a better product r&d from the parent company. So buying i.e. plastic works.
Apart from that I'd love to have some option to automize the upgrading of tech levels in subsidiaries without having the (AI) CEO involved. I actually don't allow my CEOs to do anything but sit in their offices. I want to have full control of my subsidiaries including any of their firms and have to update every manufacturing unit myself. At least, after I bought a product tech. As one can choose to have the automatic product upgrade turned on or off in the options (that seems to count for the parent company only) I would be cool to have that option for ones subsidaries as well. Plus having the ability for a default internal sale in the subsidiaries could be very helpful, too.
edit: one more thing that just popped into my mind and that I've just tried out. I don't know if that's been discussed here already but it seems like I can't buy a media firm with my subsidiary.
Subsidiary can't buy Tech R&D and some more issues..or ideas

havent had any troublee with selling tech to my subs and i do it a lot as all &D is in the parent company.
upgrading of tech in subs is a pain yes should be automated somehow.
internal sale is availible group-wide for every product
buying media firms with subs works like buying any other firm for your sub ... buy with parent company and then transfer to the sub that shall hold it.

Thanks,
I tried the tv stations and yeah, my mistake
. And I found the auto internal sale setting for my subs.
Anyhow, I can't buy a higher rated tech-tech (like a semiproduct tech...3D graphics, touch screen, battery technologies and so on) from the parent company as shown on the screenshots (I tried to buy the same tech with a level of 100 later on, offering something around 300,000,000 Dollars just to make sure - but the parent ceo refused "to sell this technology to a competitor"). I was able to buy product technologies like back-pack, electronic components, plastic and so on without a problem, though

Re: Subsidiary can't buy Tech R&D and some more issues..or i
Thanks a lot, David! It works...so far. I was able to buy the tech-tech (i.e. 3D Graphics, Digital Photography etc.) from my parent company. After I bought it the tech for 3D graphics and Video game interface, I did not have the techology to build video game consoles. I've waited for a whole year and couldn't build them. After I set up an R&D facility with my sub, however, and did a six month R&D on the technologies I need for manufacturing video game consoles, I was finally able to manufacture them.
