Factory Layout plan
I am just starting to branch out into manufacturing. However i notice in some of the layout plans the goods that i want to manufacture like the cabrio car are grey out why are some goods greyed out?
Re: Factory Layout plan
Its grayed out because the product is not ready to be invented. It is not avaiable.
As soon as it can be invented it gets red. You can then research it with through a R+D Unit. When it is ready to produce, it gets black.

The Cabrio car has been invented but it is still greyed out in the factory plan. The normal car and car body is available in the factory plan.woody wrote:Its grayed out because the product is not ready to be invented. It is not avaiable.

Re: Factory Layout plan
I've noticed this in farms, where agricultural goods are "greyed" out in the drop down tab in the top center of the factory layout screen. Doesn't stop me from picking them, however.

Re: Factory Layout plan
I thought the pre-defined library layout system is more or less being replaced by the auto setup with manufacturing guild since 3.5.00, unless you need user defined library.

Re: Factory Layout plan
Just be careful there's sufficient demand, when using auto-setup, it meant to produce with maximum output. If you are in a game or market with very limited demand (like in survival mode, or with very small population and very few cities, or aiming for high paying customers instead of monopoly), this might have higher operating expenses and overheads than it needs to be compared to manual setup.moneytheory wrote:Must say i am very impressed with the auto feature.
