Can't connect to server

It says:
SERVER CONNECTION ERROR
Error logging into the server. Unrecognized server message.

Error message

Because of this, the game's functionality is limited to saved games only at the moment.

I've played this game many times before with no problems, but now I have a new pc and just reinstalled it.
I turned off the firewall and that didn't seem to do anything. Thoughts?
