Hi David
This is a request. Is it possible to add an XL sized factory and/or warehouse?

Would be a nice feature to be able to have different factory set ups instead of multiple buildings.

@ mwyeoh,
do you mean like it is now: small, medium, large and then xl factories ?
Or do you mean a factory with more then the 9 tiles (ie departments) ?
If the you mean the latter, maybe there should be some restrictions so only some types of products can be combined. For example a factory where cars are made, can only be extended with a motorbike production. Or different computer products combined. If it is possible in the game engine, it would add greatly to the realism (have you ever seen a warning on a computer box saying it has been produced in a factory where nuts are also processed ? :p)

I mean a higher capacity (More workers) so that the factories have a higher throughput

Hi mwyeoh, you may test the latest version and see if you can still take a lot of market shares easily, which is the main reason why XL factories are required - to cut down the micromanagement of managing various large factories. You may let me know the testing results and we can discuss further.

Yeah, Im still needing lots of factories
Im my latest challenge game, for desktop computers, I am needing ten large factories to adequately supply all the retail outlets. Because of this, Ive had to set up 2x 5-factories linked to a warehouse (10 factories and 2 warehouses). Although they arent quite at maximum level yet, the overall demand would also increase anyway.
I still dont have full ownership of desktop computers yet either.
Heres a link to the save

Its the same one as in the "Challenge game" Forum

Re: Request: XL sized factories and warehouses
We are in the process of tuning the game to reduce the micromanagement, reducing the need to set up so many factories.
If at the end, micromanagement is unavoidable, we will consider implementing this suggestion.
