Different prices between Link mode and Analysis mode

Post by Gorillatore »

I have 2 different prices for the same product, one within the Supplier link mode, and the other within the Analysis mode. I've seen it in a few different instances with other products too and it's driving me mad. Even the quality is different.

For the same product, this is info 1:

Price: 3.94
Shipping: 0.36
Quality: 30

For the same product, this is info 2:

Price: 4.93
Shipping: 0.24
Quality:31

Can somebody explain this discrepancy?

I received this feedback a while ago, but I don't understand how to check this. Anybody know?

'You may want to check the quantity of the input for producing one unit of the output product in the Manufacturer's Guide. That may explain the cost difference.'

Could you please provide us with your save game file and let us know the following?
1) Which version of Capitalism Lab you are using. You can see the version number on the top-right of the main menu.
2) If your savegame uses a MOD, please let us know the name of the MOD and the MOD's version number.

You can find save game files of Capitalism Lab from the C:\Users\<your user name>\Documents\My Games\Capitalism Lab\SAVE

You may provide us with your save game file by posting it here on the forum as a ZIP file attachment or emailing the save game file to us at info@enlight.com.

I will then look into the issue and give you an answer.

Thanks for the reply!

1) My version is 5.4.12
2) No mods. Just activated the Internet Age DLC.
3) Also attached the saved game in zip format.

I loaded your save game.

2 lbs of wool produces 3 units of sweaters.

Cost of wool for each sweater = <purchase cost of wool> * 2 / 3

purchase cost of wool per lb = $7.32

$7.32 * 2 / 3 = $4.88.

In your case, it is $4.88.

Hi thanks for the reply. I believe I don't follow. Could you please clarify.

Just to recap, the issue I'm seeing is the difference in data between these 2 screens:

The price shown in the purchasing unit is the average costs of the purchased stock. It can be different from the current price on the supplier list if the supplier has changed the price since you started to purchasing from it a while ago.

And if you are purchasing the same item from more than one supplier, the cost shown in the analysis mode will not be the same as the price from either supplier.

Your first comment makes quite a lot of sense. Although I've only one distributor, so there's no average prices.

What I find strange is that the freight charge on one is higher, although the merch price is lower. I'd guessed it should be the other way round. The higher the merch, the higher the freight.

Anyhow I will take into account the explanation of the 1st comment and do my own calculations and report back. Thanks!
