Version 5.6.18 Release. No DLCs. I am using my simple mod and script that only changes product names and one product pic. Cola was renamed to Soft Drink. [Edit: Confirmed without mods/scripts]
Cola manufacturing costs 2 cents.
Firms 115 and 118 produced Canned Corn, Corn Syrup and Cola. The prices make little sense. The Corn Syrup is manufactured internally, yet shows a higher price and freight cost (7 cents) than the cola which uses it (2 cents). Plainly, it had to have cost more than 2 cents to make the cola.
[Edit to add:] All competitors show low costs in these products, so they're retailing too cheaply and throwing off the whole market.
[SOLVED] Cola manufacturing costs 2 cents.

Re: Cola manufacturing costs 2 cents.
As you could see in the Manufacturer's Guide, it takes 5 lbs of Corn Syrup to produce 50 cans of Cola. So the amount of Corn Syrup used in the production of one unit of Cola is 5/50 = 1/10.

Re: Cola manufacturing costs 2 cents.
Oh.
$0.40 ~ 5x corn syrup @$0.08/lbs.
+$0.53 ~ 1x aluminum @$0.53/lbs.
= $0.93 / 50 can cola.
= $0.0186 can cola.
Sorry I freaked out, I never really did the price math before, and any end product costing a mere 2 cents seemed crazy.
Thanks.
