On this for person and company it would be cool if we could pick pay interest or compound it!

Benefits paying interest use cash to offset losses, re invest etc, also in a way you can use the interest to lower borrowing cost because of interest baring cds / accounts offsetting the interest on the loan

Benefits to compound; asset grows releasing more buying power through higher loan capacity as well as a higher APY because of compounding

By limting the number, you could make it that one of your normal competitors could even take a loan in your bank. Thus making it realistic because in real life there are people who take loans but also compagnies.
What about limiting the number of banks by number of companies? Then you would be looking at a bank licensing system where a set number of licenses would be available to purchase in order to open a bank.

Very interesting discussion. If I can learn more of how the banking system work playing the game with this DLCs that would be awesome.

It would also further the reason why I can't play the game when I'm tired lol.

I agree David with Brian's post #9 assertion that fractional banking is important to maintain the realism of the simulation. FDIC govt insurance and so on requires fractional banking to be implemented. With the Banking DLC do you guys plan to increase the presence of a National govt UI? Like having a FED UI with the "talent" appointed by the Political President or whatever in power (as a result of the National/Federal election cycle)? Having the City economies subject to Federal level policy and the whims of national "Macro" economic policy choice as a result of the federal election cycle would be awesome! We would be talking about adding a National UI component that is like the one you guys have now for the cities/States.

It would be like a a Congressional screen/ executive screen w/ departments/agency heads (picked as a result of the National election outcome), you would have a National Party screen or just work that from the party screen you guys already have. Its almost like adding another city UI package but we are gonna call it State/Federal(National) and have a polyphonic current that effects each other and the economy as a result of who wins and their "talent" and "policy" decisions (which is just like the City screens).

Of course all the National/federal political crap affects financial/economic climate even at the Micro level (State/city). It would just add to the realism of the game while not being cumbersome. It would also require the player to participate more in the electoral process as they proceed to build fortune 500 corp and play a role in national process to augment there corporate gains, etc.

I just completed reading the entire set of post. Excuse me for the late reply above. This shit is awesome! I can't wait for the Banking DLC. I would pay more than you guys charge for this deep type of simulation.
