CapLab Post-Release Beta V6.1.11 full version installer

Post by David »

Capitalism Lab Post-Release Beta V6.1.11 full version installer has been released.

To install it, download it from https://caplab.b-cdn.net/CapLab_Post_Re ... taller.exe and run the installer.

Please note that save games older than v6.1.10 are not compatible with this new version.

Version 6.1.11
Fixed the crash bug that occurred when building an Internet company.

Version 6.1.10
Building size change
Changed the size of the bank branch to 2x2.

Gameplay balance improvements
Slightly decreased the sensitivity of customer deposits to a change in interest rates. For details, please see:
http://www.capitalism2.com/forum/viewto ... =52&t=7066

Increased the effect of corporate profit tax cut on the Business Activity Index of a city.

Adjusted the effects of different firm types to land values for better gameplay balance.

UI improvement
When the player clicks the Link Media button on an Advertising unit, it will display a checkbox indicating the currently selected media.

Financial report improvements
When you view the Firm Income Statement, if the profit of a firm is offset against losses in other firms of this corporation, resulting in a reduction in its profit tax, it will display a [?] icon on the Profit Tax line, stating so.

When there is no tax deduction, this [?] icon will not be displayed.

Sometimes you may wonder why a firm is making profit but it doesn't have to pay any profit tax. This new indicator will enable you to find out the reason.

Improvements to Cities Report under City Economic Simulation DLC
Added a new icon allowing to change the display mode of the housing graph and the office space graph to one of the following: supply, demand, or supply vs demand.

There may be times when you find the supply and demand index going up, but you cannot tell for sure whether it is due to shrinking demand or surging supply of office buildings/apartments. This new feature will allow you to switch to the graph mode that shows only the supply or only the demand, to get a clear picture of the underlying cause.

Version 6.1.02

Interface Improvements
Increased the speed at which you use the [+][-] buttons to change the amount of bank deposits to make or withdraw, as well as the amount of bonds to buy.

Version 6.1.00

New Banking and Finance DLC Features

You can now set up and run a bank in this version. For details, please read the documentation at the official Capitalism Lab web site:
https://www.capitalismlab.com/banking-dlc/

Please visit the following links on the web site:
  • Bank Headquarters
  • Bank Branches
  • New Game Settings of the Banking and Finance DLC
  • Understanding Bank Capital Requirements

New Game Setting

• On the New Game Settings menu, a new option has been added for setting the aggressiveness of AI pricing strategy. It determines how far the AI companies will go in lowering prices of their products in order to grab market share from competitors. When this is set to low, you can expect most products to enjoy healthy profit margins and companies will be in general more profitable.

The original Competitor Aggressiveness option has been renamed as “AI Expansion Aggressiveness”, which determines how aggressive AI companies are in pursuing business expansions.

Interface Improvements
• While the mouse cursor is within a list, you may press the [HOME] key to go to the top of the list, and [BOTTOM] to go to the bottom of the list.

• On the information screen of an Internet company, context sensitive help has been added for the technology section

AI Improvements
• AI has become more intelligent in entering new markets with notable opportunities and low competition.

• Improved AI’s ability in setting product prices more intelligently to maximize profits.

• When the Digital Age DLC is enabled, there is an increased tendency for AI to expand to other software categories, other than the one it is most familiar with. This will heat up the competition in the software industry in general.

Gameplay Balance Improvements

• Changed the Brand Concern value of egg, frozen chicken, frozen pork, frozen beef, and frozen lamb to 20 so that AI’s advertisement program will cover these products. (AI in generally does not advertise products whose Brand Concern value is equal to or less than 10.)

• Increased the demand for cars and motorcycle, smart phones, mobile phones and camera phones.

• Reduced the effect the Necessity Index on product demand so that product demand will fluctuate at a narrower range throughout an economic cycle. This change made businesses that are heavily dependent on the economy, such as car production, more manageable during an economic downturn.

• Increased the profitability of Internet companies under the normal inflation mode.

• Increased the effect of the economy (in terms of the GDP growth rate) on demand for software products for better gameplay balance.

• Users will upgrade to new software versions at a lower rate when the tech advancement of a new version compared to the previous version does not justify a full upgrade. The growth in software sales are driven primarily by the growth in the number of computer users and releases of new versions prompting existing users to upgrade. With this change, in means that the growth of software revenue will be slowed down as revenue to be generated from releases of new versions will be lower. If you think the impact of the change is too much, you may counter it by increasing the “Software Revenue Index” in the New Game Settings menu.

• The formula for determining the standard technology acquisition costs now takes into consider the market size of the product to which the tech applies, instead of solely based on the R&D costs. The implication is that the tech of a product with a small market size will be unable to demand a high acquisition cost.

Bug Fixes

• Fixed a bug where an AI competitor focused on Operating System software may not emerge in a game when using a mod that links CEO persons with predefined companies.

• Fixed a bug that caused manufacturing units producing physical software products to stop working.
