Worked for me as well, couldn't see firm icons but they're there if you click to place them.swordman59 wrote: ↑Fri Dec 20, 2019 5:37 pm I've been using the insurance feature aswell recently, and the way that I've been able to access it has been through the banking and finance section of firms, then below the bank headquarters and bank branch, their are 3 blank sections and when you select them you get insurance headquarters, insurance office, and the stock broker. However, only the insurance firms work in any capacity as the stock broker is still a blank firm.
I do agree the profitability needs to be worked on with the insurance business, but I'm waiting for the official beta release before doing too much work with it.

Re: Insurance Feedback
Hi David, I was thinking more of general business insurance, also I could see from a gameplay aspect that some of the firms might want to purchase insurance to cover potential losses in downturns.
For me, form a gameplay/educational perspective I see the insurance market as an opportunity to understand and manage risk, so I guess I would see that as the gameplay mechanic, getting general insurance to cover some defined loss limit that the company might face under hard times. And the insurance company having to manage and offset that risk.
Fire can definitely be a risk, but some firms will also lose money when the economy declines

Good luck finding "economic cycle" insurance in the real economy. No insurer is able to underwrite that risk to the extent they would avoid getting swindled by the insurees, so it doesn't exist. That risk is shared by way of equity and credit markets, contracts, etc., not insurance.
