Currently player is the only character without any buisness expertises, or at least they are all zero.
What i want to sugest is that factories, farms, etc give player expirience points towards expertise in area.
For example it can be like that:
Small factories under direct player control provide 1 xp, medium - 2, and large - 3.
player controls 2 small and 3 large factory, thus every month he recives 2x1 + 3x3 = 11 xp toward manifacturing. When player gets 100 xp, he recives 1 point in manifacturing.
now he start to recive 2x1 + 3x3 - 1x3 (expertise in manufacturing multiplied by 3, ie one of the large factories dont provide any more xp.) = 8 xp per month.
when player reaches 4 expertise this formula will give this result, 2x1+3x3-4x3= -1, this means that player wont get any more xp ( and his expertise will stop growing).
Now if player destroy the 2 small factory, result will be 3x3 - 4x3 = -3, since negative value is 3 (or greater), player starts to loose xp in manifacturing, when his current xp drops to zero or negative, he will loose 1 point in expertise. and will keep loosing xp and respectivly points until, total score is less then negative 3. and start gaining again if it goes over zero.
Same can aply for farms (farming), mines (raw material), training end so on, with a bit ajusted formula, since to get 100 expertise in mining will need at least 100 mines, which isnt realistic in game, but for factories will be ok. The given example can be ajusted in many way, to be balanced, and to need to put efford to rise expertises.
Also every 10 points or so, the player may need to spend some personal cash on training (wich can take one month for example, during which, company wont recive any bonuses from his expertises), to unlock expertise from 11-20, from 21 to 30, and so on.
Same can aply for product expertise, with posibility to train new product expertise (just to unlock it, then it need to be rised like others and trained every 10 points) and have multiple expertises.
Player expertises.

Re: Player expertises.
Also, with some more futures and development in the area, it can be in form of new dlc.

Re: Player expertises.
I think they are good ideas.
As usual, I would recommend that you set up a poll for them.
