Which systems do you prefer?

I'm a convinced English speaker. I don't need translation.

Poll : Multilingual game

Post by paulwoman »

French Bellow

As I am gradually translating the game, I would like to be able to switch from the "French version" to the English version without having to delete or move the "translate" folder.

Also, the files in the "guide" folder, originally in this folder, doesn't work that way anymore and has to be moved to the "text" folder. Also, if you want to have the "images" parts in another language, you have to delete them as well.

A solution that would be useful for me is to propose a language selection interface. It would be "enough" to put the translated files in a special folder. For example "translate_fr" and "translate_nl". In this case, the software would offer me English, French and Dutch. And all this while keeping the original images as they are.

A software to create a translate.txt file already exists here

It's been a long time since I posted this idea...

As I said in the previous post, currently, apart from the "translate" folder, all files have to be replaced to get a version in its language.

Being able to choose a language with an option once the game is launched would be very useful, especially since I'm currently working on two translations.
